WEATHER AT THE ROUND BARN

Sheltered by the surrounding mountains, the Ruby Valley is commonly referred to as the ‘banana belt’ of Montana.  High temperatures in July and August average 82* while the evenings are a perfect, cooler temperature for outdoor gatherings and watching the sun set.  Spring in Montana can be slow to arrive, but when it does, you quickly forget the shorter and colder days of winter.

AREA ATTRACTIONS & RECREATION

The Greater Ruby Valley, as well as the Ruby Reservoir south of Alder offers many areas for the fly fishing enthusiasts.  Brown trout, Rainbow trout and Cutthroat trout are the main fish that you will catch while on the local waters.  Map your own fishing adventure or hire one of the many local guides to take you out on the rivers and streams.

Beyond fishing, there is an array of outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, biking, camping, bird watching, horseback riding or check the local newspaper for upcoming activities like the farmer’s market or County Fair.

If you have time, a day trip through Yellowstone National Park is a journey of animal sightings as well as a majestic landscape that only Yellowstone offers.

The historical ghost towns of Nevada and Virginia City are just 30 miles to the south.  History in these mining towns is abundant as you walk from the museum to the local candy shop or ride the old fire truck tour.  You can catch the Virginia City Players or the Brewery Follies on any evening of the summer.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATIONS & CAMPING

While the cabins on site are for wedding packages only, there are many small cabins for rent not only here in Twin Bridges but in Sheridan, Alder and Dillon.  Larger hotels can be found just down the road in Dillon and Whitehall, both a short 30 minute drive.

Insurance does not allow any camping onsite; however, the Twin Bridges Fairgrounds are about 5 minutes from the barn and they have a great campground along the river. â€‹
